I am a BACP registered counsellor and a member of Pink Therapy, meaning that I offer LGBT and kink aware therapy. I work in private practice full time as well as teaching workshops and speaking at conferences on chemsex, party drugs, addiction and working therapeutically. I have been published as a writer on therapeutic issues.
I offer ongoing and short term contracts (6-12 weeks) working with a large range of issues.
I work one to one with adult clients, utilising a variety of skills and techniques including creative, play therapy and guided meditation alongside talking. I believe we can work together to explore patterns and relationships throughout your life, and explore any issues which may be causing you distress. In beginning to find understanding we can move towards change.
Before training as a counsellor I was involved in music and performance which I feel has given me an insight into life, pressure and the affect it can have on self-image and esteem. I offer a warm, non-judgemental approach to counselling and believe that it is important that you feel safe and comfortable as we work through whatever is troubling you.
I trained at City and Islington and gained their Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling after my initial degree from Liverpool University. Since then I have gained additional training in loss and bereavement, addiction, personality disorders, working with transidentified and transhistoried clients, LGBT issues and chemsex.
Prior to working in private practice full time, I spent years working with agencies specialising in bereavement counselling and then addiction. The time that I spent with Lifeline taught me how to work with those who are still currently in the process of ending drug use. I also spent time with specialist LGBT and Chemsex agency AfterParty.
Initial consultation is set at a standard fee of £50 for 50 minutes.
Sessions then range from £50-70 for a 50 minute session based upon the time slot and what is affordable to the client.
I also offer limited low cost time slots for those on low income or benefits.
